Requirements to Change Major to Human Resource Development (HRDV)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application
- Must have 12 graded hours at TAMU
- Must have less than 75 total completed hours
- Must have MATH 140 or MATH 142 (or approved substitutes)
- 1 Life and Physical Science courses (Minimum 3 hours each)
- ENGL 103 or 104
- Additional Requirements:
- Application essay, reviewed by faculty. (400-500 word minimum, 3500 character, including spaces, limit)
- Career goals with an explanation of how this degree program will help achieve those goals
- Overall writing skills and quality are both considered including grammar, spelling, and professional style in submitted essay

Human Resource Development Program Information
Change of Campus (McAllen)
**These requirements are for students who want to change from CS to McAllen or McAllen to CS. Applicants must apply for change of campus in Spring semester (Decemeber- February application) to begin at the new campus in the Fall semester. Campus change requests submitted in the Fall semesters will not be considered. It is recommended that you do not sign a lease until you have received a final decision regarding your change of campus request. Courses in progress at time of application are not considered in our review for change of major admission. Prospective change of major students must meet the minimum change of major requirements detailed above at the time of application.
*This does not apply to Galveston Students*
- Must have a 3.00 GPA at the time of application

Requirements to Change Major to Bilingual Education (EDUC-BLE)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application
- Must have 1 Core Maths (i.e. MATH 140) with C or better
- Must have 1 Core 4-hour Life & Physical Science completed with C or better
- Preferred Coursework: TEFB 273, INST 210 (B or better) and SPAN 101-202 with Cs or better
- Maximum of 70 completed hours at the time of application

Requirements to Change Major to Special Education (EDUC-ESP)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application
- Must have 1 Core Math completed (i.e. MATH 140) with C or better
- Must have 1 Core 4-hour Life & Physical Science completed with C or better
- Preferred INST 210 & TEFB 273 with C's or better
- No more than 70 completed hours

Requirements to Change Major to Kinesiology-Exercise Science (KINE)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application
- Must have 12 graded hours at TAMU
- Must have completed four of the required courses with B average and a minimum grade of C
- Both MATH 140 and 142 (or equivalents)
- Two of the following sciences: BIOL 111, BIOL 112, CHEM 119, CHEM 120, PHYS 201, PHYS 202, BIOL 319 or BIOL 320
- Preferred to have ENGL 103 or 104 and ENGL 210 or COMM 203 completed with C's or better
- Students with a 3.0 or better GPA have preference
- BIOL 319 and BIOL 320 MUST be taken at Texas A&M
- Students with fewer than 80 total hours (A&M & transfer) have preference

- Basic Exercise Physiology (KINE-BEP)
- Motor Behavior (KINE-MTB)
- Note: Applicants are reviewed by committee and admitted on a competitive basis. Meeting the minimum requirements listed does not guarantee admission

Requirements to Change Major to Kinesiology: Exercise and Sports Science (KINE-EST)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application
- Must have completed a minimum of 12 graded hours at Texas A&M.
- Must have completed the required courses below with a minimum grade of C:
- MATH 140 and 142 (or equivalents)
- Two of the following sciences: BIOL 107 (or equivalent), PHYS 201 (or equivalent), BIOL 319 (*BIOL 2401) or BIOL320 (*BIOL 2402)
- Change of major information
*BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 are not direct equivalents for BIOL 319 and 320 but can substitute for this degree. Students must take either BIOL 2401 and 2402 at a community college or take BIOL 319 or 320. BIOL 2401 will not count as a prerequisite for BIOL 320.
Kinesiology: Exercise and Sports Science Program Information
All change of major applicants to SEHD are reviewed by committee and admitted on a competitive basis after a holistic review. Meeting the minimum requirements listed does not guarantee admission.

Requirements to Change Major to Sport Management (SPMT)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application
- Must have 12 graded hours at TAMU
- No more than 60 total hours completed ( Including AP & Dual Credit)
- 3.0 GPA is competitive for admission
- Preferred Coursework: COMM 203 and ENGL 103/104
- Additional Requirements:
- Required coursework must be complete at time of application
- Applicants are reviewed by a committee and admitted on a competitive basis. Meeting the minimum requirements listed does not guarantee admission.

- Must have 1 Core 3-4-hour Life & Physical Science completed with C or better

- Additional Requirements:
- Meet with a TLAC advisor before applying.
- Students need to be aware the BS in EDUC program is a teaching certification option ONLY.
- Early completion of core math/science is strongly encouraged in order to move into the Upper part of the degree plan and stay on track to complete the BS in EDUC.
- During the 2nd semester of the student’s Jr. year, each student has approximately a 9 month window to take, pass, and complete the TEA teacher certification exam, in order to move on and Clinical Teach/graduate through the TLAC program.
