Change of Major
Information on Majors
BBA in ACCT, FINC, MGMT, MKTG, MISY, SCMT
- A minimum 3.50 overall A&M GPA or higher
- At least 30 graded TAMU hours
- No more than 60 total hours (including transfer credit, but excluding AP and dual credit completed in high school)
- 3.50 GPA or above on at least 4 qualifying courses, two of the four qualifying courses must be MATH 140 and MATH 142, or their equivalents.
- Students may access the change of major application online via the Change of Major Requests channel on My Record tab ( Howdy portal)
- If more than the four courses minimum are complete, grades in all courses complete will be included in the GPA calculation. If a course has been attempted more than once, the higher grade will be used in this calculation.

On-Campus change of major requests are considered for students who were admitted to A&M during the freshman admissions process. Transfer applicants who accepted admission to Texas A&M will be considered for on-campus change-of-major to Mays by waiver only. Prospective transfer applicants were instructed not to accept admission to a non-business major with the expectation of later requesting change of major to Mays.

B.S. Business Administration
- A mimimum 3.25 overall A&M GPA or higher
- At least 30 graded TAMU hours
- No more than 60 total hours (including transfer credit, but excluding AP and dual credit completed in high school).
- Complete a minimum of four of the specific courses listed on the Map to Business Administration with a GPA of 3.25 or greater.
- Two of the four courses must be MATH 140 and MATH 142, or their equivalents.
- Students can only apply once they meet the change of major requirements and not while courses or requirements are in progress.
